COPPER GASKET FOR CONFLAT VACUUM SYSTEM
Copper, the normal gaskets for stainless steel CF flanges are punched from 1/4-hard, high purity, oxygen-free (OFHC) copper stock, chemically cleaned and finished to be scratch and burr-free. Can be heated up to 450°C in flange assembly. Metal wire gaskets made of copper, gold or indium can be also be used.
Metal gaskets are impermeable to gases and withstand moderately high temperatures indefinitely. The CF flange is the most widely used For high vacuum and UHV applications. Many gauges, instruments, accessories and feedthroughs are available on this flange system.

CF systems use a copper gasket and knife-edge flanges to achieve the high vacuum seal and can operate down to 10-13 torr (10-11 Pa) and can be heated to 450°C for bake-out.
