The C-Chip is a disposable plastic haemocytometer used for manual cell counting. It consists of 2 enclosed, surface-patterned chambers with 2 ports for sample injection.

The C-Chip counting chambers are particularly suited for phase contrast microscopy, but bright-field viewing is very satisfactory.

In a conventional glass haemocytometer, improper fitting of the chamber and coverslip changes the volume of the sample introduced into the chamber. C-Chip's chamber with integrated coverslip solves the problem. It is a good standard practice to use a disposable haemocytometer for clinical labs and laboratories dealing with infectious materials. It is safer.

Neubauer Improved

SV520-N and SV521-N, C-Chip disposable haemocytometer, have two precision engineered individual counting chambers (100 mm depth) with integrated cover slips. The chamber has ports for sample loading. Neubauer Improved (NI) grid pattern is embedded in each chamber. Each grid pattern has nine large squares each measuring 1 x 1 mm and a total counting area of 3 x 3 mm.

Calculation:

The full grid on a haemocytometer contains 9 squares, each of which is 1 mm square. Large cells are counted using the four large corner squares (and the middle one). If you use a dense suspension of small cells, the four 1/25 sq. mm corners plus the middle square in the central square are used.

The grid consists of 9 large squares, each measuring 1 x 1 mm, and a chamber depth of 0.1 mm. Each square has a total volume of 0.1 mm³ or 10^-4cm³. The central square is divided into 25 small squares with triple lines and four corner squares are divided into 16 small squares.

Each large square has a surface area of 1.0mm², and the depth of the chamber is 0.1mm. As there are 1000 mm³ per ml, each large square represents a volume of 0.0001ml, so that it is equal to 1/ 0.0001ml = 10,000 = (10⁴)

Cells per ml = Average count per square x dilution factor x 10,000.

If you decide the item purchased does not suit your requirements, you may contact us to see if a return is possible. Some items may not be refunded, so please ask before purchase if you think a return may be necessary. The greater of $15 or 15% re-stocking charge will be levied on materials returned due to an error on the part of the customer. We try to keep this charge minimal, however returns do have a cost to us.

Shipping and Handling charges are $20 for Australian orders; free for orders over $200.

In-stock items are generally sent same day. Orders are shipped shipped from Townsville, Queensland. Our couriers pick up from 2:30pm, so please place your order in plenty of time for processing and packing if you would like it sent same day. When items are not in stock, your order may be part-shipped. Items on back-order will be sent as soon as they become available.

ProSciTech will choose the courier for your order with consideration for the destination, value of parcel, weight and perishability of contents. It is our concern that our shipments reach you, our customer, rapidly and in good condition. Please contact us if you have any issues with a shipment and we will do our best to resolve it. Please keep in mind however, that our legal responsibility ends when goods are passed to the carrier.

Urgent Orders:

See the table on the page for DG shipment costs by road. Please specify when ordering if you require air service (this can be prohibitively expensive). Please request a quotation. We will charge at cost.

Trouble Shooting

Solution: Check the discount, as most discounts apply to online orders only.
Incorrect freight charge (eg there is freight charged on an order over $200)
Solution: check you are logged in and you have entered your shipping address.

For Manual Quotes:

In some cases, a manual quote may be necessary. This could be if the product doesn't have a price listed online, if you're located outside of Australia, or if your total order will exceed $1000.
